Steve Fox - 1948-2010

Steven Wesley Fox or Pastor Steve as we call him was born to Leonard and Rozella (Shocklie) Fox on May 10, 1948 in Loma Linda, CA. Steve grew up in the Muscoy and Rialto communities along with his siblings, Sonny, Sharon, Sid, Sylvia and Stan. He attended Eisenhower High School and graduated in 1966. While he was there, he was very active in sports playing football and baseball. Steve also served in the Army for 13 months.

On December 23, 1972 he married the love of his life, Karen Ann Kennard in Redwood City, CA. Together they had three children, Zachary, Christiane and Rachel.

Steve had been the Pastor at Inland Christian Center Church in Colton for the past 33 years. In the beginning, as youth pastor, he served under his parents and founders of the church, Pastors Leonard and Rozella. In 1990, his parents placed him as Senior Pastor as they stepped aside to begin traveling to minister to other churches. In the past 20 years, Pastor Steve has made his mark not only in the church but in our surrounding communities and around the world as well.

In his recreational time, Steve loved the game of golf and played it often. His favorite sports teams were the LA Dodgers and the Oakland Raiders. Steve loved to go to Yosemite and took his family every year as well as visiting Weed, CA another favorite place of his. He made countless trips to Africa and South America, where he managed and nurtured several churches including bible colleges.

On Sunday, February 7, 2010, in the quiet hours of the morning, Steve passed away at the age of 61 at his home in Banning, CA, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children, Zachary, Christiane Dolce and Rachel; his grandchildren, Christopher, Caroline, Madison, Seth and Levi; his sibings, Sonny, Sharon, Sylvia and Stan; his father, Leonard and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sid and his mother, Rozella.

Today we may have lost a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, but heaven has gained a hero of faith. The hole left in our hearts can only be filled with the memories we have of him, the legacy he has left and the love of our personal Savior, Jesus Christ.

A foundation has been set up in memory of Steve and for the promotion of missions throughout the world. A ministry that was close to his heart. You may make donations to the Steven W. Fox Foundation and send to 1401 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Colton, CA 92324.
